While most 8-port gigabit switches stop at PoE+ (30W per port), the AP-3048GE-BT implements 802.3bt (PoE++), enabling high-power delivery on the same eight gigabit ports. That single difference unlocks the newest generation of powered devices: high-density Wi-Fi 6/7 access points that draw beyond 30W, PTZ cameras with continuous pan-tilt-zoom motors plus heating/blowing for outdoor use, LED-loaded smart light poles, and industrial IoT gateways. The switch auto-negotiates af, at or bt per device, so standard cameras and phones coexist on the same unit.

The 120W budget is sized for a high-power mix: rather than filling all eight ports at maximum bt wattage (which is rarely required), integrators use bt on the few devices that truly need it — a 90W-class PTZ or smart-pole head — while the remaining ports power af/at cameras and APs.
